Adrienne Grace made her debut Wednesday at 1:04a.m., weighing in at 6lbs, 13oz, measuring 20in. She is absolutely wonderful and perfect and I wish I could say I was feeling the same, LOL!! We are at home finally and resting up. G.A.'s parents made it into town today and his mom will be with us for a while. We had a lot of visitors at the hospital (All of the Grandparents from Erica's side, Aunt Jess and Uncle Luke, Great-Grandma, Great Aunt Lolie, Aunt Katrinaa and Cousin Lilly, Aunt Jen and Uncle Mark, Jan, Anna and Jack Barchie) and expect more as the days pass.

Oh Tropical Storm Edouard!

I am really hoping that Adrienne doesn't decide to show up during the landfall of Tropical Storm Edouard. Don't get me wrong I really want her to make her arrival and can't wait to meet her, but tomorrow would not be the best time!! How funny is it that we do have a doctor's appointment though! He will be doing a non-stress test tomorrow to make sure Adrienne is still doing alright in there. And we will continue to do the same test every week until she comes (or until we reach 10 days after due date at which point we induce, thankfully!). So everyone keep praying for her safe arrival, sooner rather than later. And we will keep you posted.

We are in the home stretch where we visit with our doctor every week to check effacement/dilation and such. I will spare everyone details of this nature and say that things are going well. Hopefully this little girl will be here a little early (??) but that is not for me to decide! She may be getting used to the great service she's getting in there. Nice warm, dark room, not too much noise, plenty of food!! But I do think she has her moments where her comfort level is being compromised and I usually get a foot to the rib cage or something like that.
We will go to the doctor Tuesday to again check all those...neat details. Keep your fingers crossed for more progress!!!

June Baby Shower Pics

Here are some pictures from the baby shower we had last weekend here at the house. Again we are so blessed to have so many family and friends that wish us and baby Adrienne well. It was great seeing people we haven't seen in a long time and G.A. really enjoyed finally getting to be at a baby shower!! Our countdown is moving along, although it feels like a slow-moving train, it is definitely moving and she will be here before we know it!!! Can't wait!!

For those of you who were just as curious as we were, I give you Adrienne Grace. Here is the sweet girl's face...

Quite the surreal moment when you realize that you are looking at the face that will be looking up to you for the rest of your life. From what we can tell, she's got full, pouty lips and maybe her Aunt Jessica's nose??? We don't know on that one, could still be the roman nose of her mom and dad (and many other family members). She wouldn't cooperate fully for the 3D pictures, but instead was intent on laying sideways so we could see her easily in 2D. Throughout the ultrasound you can see her face many times. Everything is good, doctor was very pleased with her development and size (even though mom is not looking 8 months pregnant). She weighed in at 4lbs, 7oz and is on track to be around 7 1/4 to 7 1/2lbs at debut!! Can't wait to meet her now that we've seen her!!!

Work Baby Shower

My ever-supportive co-workers decided to throw me a baby shower at work a couple weeks back and we got lots of goodies!! Here are some shots from the shindig. They took the jungle theme (and baby girl theme) and ran with it. They outdid themselves once again.

I didn't include any of me opening gifts because some of them came out a little blurry. But with the upcoming baby shower (end of June) hopefully more of those will come out better. And I will blog about that one as well! Off to bed for the night; this will be the final 3 1/2 days of school for me at my current building! YAY for summer!!!

We went to the doctor last week for my glucose screening test. And thankfully I'm not diabetic, but I am anemic (my mother was also!) so I've begun taking an iron supplement in addition to my daily vitamin. My belly measured at 23 1/2 weeks and I was at 23 weeks, so we're running a little big - yikes! Adrienne is VERY active at certain times and yes I can already feel her moving around in there. She is very picky about the ways I sit and hold my laptop on my lower abdomen area. She doesn't liked to be squished! But who does?! G.A. was able to feel some of the movement the other night, and we both look forward to more of that. In two doctor visits we will get another ultrasound (we'll also be somewhere around 32 weeks along at that point!) and hopefully Adrienne's positioning will cooperate with the 3D-4D ultrasound and we'll get to see what she looks like! How neat!

Drumroll please.......

Today we had our 20 week visit with the doctor, plus ultrasound to check everything out. All parts look fabulous, heartbeat was very strong at 140 bpm. "Do you want to know what it is??" Well of course I do. You don't know me and surprises (I'm horrible with them). After about 14 minutes of pushing and jarring and shaking and changing positions the ultrasound tech finally sees what she's looking for and we are having a little.......GIRL! Yes, G.A. gets to experience having a little girl in the house. But he's happy because tennis scholarships are easier to come by for girls!! So you can bet, he'll be buying her her first racquet soon (along with golf clubs...we want to cover our bases). I'm very comfortable with girls since that's all my family seems to have with the exception of a few boy cousins and my uncles. Anyhow, she looks healthy and really isn't that all that matters?! I'm posting the four pictures we got today, don't ask what they are. I can barely decipher them myself. When G.A. figures out how to get the pics off the DVD we got today, we'll try to get those up somewhere so everyone can see all 14 minutes of the procedure today. I'm not a fan of IVs

So I've been feeling extremely run down since early last week and thought it was just some congestion (a pleasant side effect of being pregnant). But by the end of the week and weekend I was miserable with a nasty cough and low grade fever. So when I called my doctor on Monday morning with low grade fever still and vomitting, they told me to come in right away. I did and they checked me out. Said it was just a doozie of a cold and that I needed to take it easy and rest. When I got home the doctor's office called and said I had some ketones in my urine. Apparently, ketones are what happen when you are becoming dehydrated. The nurse wanted to see me back in the office Tuesday morning to check again, but I was supposed to try to rehydrate on my own. Well, that process didn't work at all. And when I went back in on Tuesday they sent me over to the hospital for IV fluids. All in all, I got about 1500 ml of fluid in 4 hours and was sent home. Though it was not pleasant, it did help make me feel better pretty quick and thank God I am doing much better fighting off this nasty cold bug. It's almost gone completely, but I don't want to jinx it. So forget I said the almost completely gone part!!

Progressing along...SLOWLY

Slowly but surely, we're truckin' along. We are into week 15 and thankfully I've been feeling better, nausea-wise. I'm dog-tired though and can overeat easily. Boo for someone who enjoys eating to her fill!! Anyhow, we had our second visit yesterday and it was thankfully uneventful. All of my blood work looked good and we heard the heartbeat loud and clear!! They went ahead and drew some blood for the cystic fibrosis screening (the results will be in terms of odds/chances, its not a positive or negative test), but we passed on the other tests for down syndrome and neural tube defects. I mean, really, if our child is born with anything wrong, what are we gonna do? Send him/her back? We will cope and I'd rather not be stressed out for the remaining 6 months, endangering me and the baby. So our next visit will be during my Spring Break (a week after everyone elses) and we will get to record the ultrasound and hopefully (everyone pray, keep fingers crossed, wish on a star, light some candles, whatever!!!!) see the sex of the baby. Yes, we are finding out. G.A. and I are both really horrible with surprises and it will be nice to know! So like I said, let's all hope this kid cooperates that day and turns the right way!!!

Finally we can share our news with everyone. We went to the doctor today and we are 11 weeks along! The ultrasound was very cool; it just feels official now. I mean, I knew it was official since I've been sick for weeks, but it's nice to see it with my own eyes. The kid was moving all over the place in there, it was neater than neat. The heart rate was a nice, speedy 162bpm. We're on target for size/growth and will be due sometime in early August, the 10th if you want a more "exact" date. We will keep you posted via emails and this page!!!
